Beaumont High School CTE Courses

Career Technical Education (CTE) courses are sequenced to create pathways for students in a course of study which can lead to employment and/or post-secondary education opportunities. These courses are aligned with the California CTE Model Curriculum Standards and meet the guidelines for the state’s Vocational Education Basic Grant Award from the U.S. Department of Education under the Carl D. Exploring the art of theatrics and video production is exactly what these pathways are designed to do. Whether you love the spotlight or want to work behind the scenes these courses will equip you with the skills needed to seek a profession in arts, media, and entertainment.
 
Career Choices: Production, acting, stage management, theatrical make-up artistry, stage crew, directing, audio-visual technicians, video production and editing, photography, and so much more. 
 
 
Engineering and Manufacturing Course
 
The Engineering and Manufacturing program prepares you for a manufacturing career and post secondary education. In this course you will learn a variety of skills and values expected from employers. Hands-on instruction takes place using industry standard equipment such as conventional and computer numeric controlled machining, precision wood working, and welding / joining materials together. When you complete the pathway will exit the program with industry recognized certificates that local manufacturing facilities are looking for. Gain a competitive advantage over other applicants in the industry and schooling. This fast paced course bridges the skills gap in the engineering and manufacturing industry.
 
Career Choices: Fabricator, machinist, field service engineer, senior plant process engineer, materials engineer, mechanical engineer, manufacturing operator, quality technician / manager, etc.

If you are interested in exploring the medical or first response fields these courses are for you. Learn the introductory skills needed to work in healthcare professions and first response teams. Your knowledge by learning patient care practices as they directly apply to various health problems, injuries and emergency situations will enable you get you in the right direction to a career pathway in the medical or first response fields.
 
Career Choices: Medical assistant, home health aide, licensed practical nurse, physician, therapist, registered nurse, physician, EMT / paramedic, firefighter, lifeguard, sports therapist, athletic trainer, fitness instructor, etc. 
 
 
 
Learn the art of food preparation and presentation. This pathway consists of Math, English, Food Science, and Social Studies to teach the life skills necessary to be successful in the food preparation and service industries. The hands-on experience will benefit those who decide to proceed with a career in the field and even those who choose another path.
 
Career Choices: Chef, food scientist, food science technician, restaurateur, line cook, prep cook, and much more.
 
 
 
 
 
If you enjoy gaming, coding, robotics, programming, and innovating you should consider a career in computer science. Companies such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and CSC are encouraging students to begin courses in this pathway. Beaumont USD has designed these courses to give their students a leading edge in the competition to enter into a career in computer science.

The public service pathways will prepare you for careers in the military and criminal justice system. 
 
Career Choices: Police officer, detective, forensic science specialist, criminal attorney, boarder patrol agent, computer forensic specialist, ATF agent, gang enforcement officer, Bailiff, conservation officer, correctional officer, probation officer, crime prevention specialist, homeland security, and other criminal justice occupations. All military branches.
