Graduation is quickly approaching for the Class of 2018!
Hundreds of seniors filled the school's gym on Wednesday, May 2 for College Signing Day, a national event started by First Lady Michelle Obama. The event is aimed at making sure every student takes charge of their future by continuing their education past high school - whether at a professional training program, community college, or a four-year college.
As students walked into the gym, they were greeted by smilies and cheers from cheerleaders, counselors, teachers, and administrators. They signed a banner pledging their commitment to a plan after high school and enjoyed a breakfast prepared by students in the high school's culinary arts program. The students also heard from several speakers, including Beaumont USD Superintendent Terrence Davis, Beaumont High School graduate Brittaney Khong, and AVID Program Manager Carrie Barnett.
