Beaumont, CA – Superintendent of Beaumont Unified School District Mays Kakish was recently recognized as an Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators, Region 19, at the Region XIX Spring Awards Celebration.
The Association of California School Administrators, Region 19, invited Kakish to the stage to receive the honorable title on Monday, May 12, 2025 in downtown Riverside, California..
“Superintendent Mays Kakish's recognition as Superintendent of the Year by ACSA is a testament to her exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to the students, staff, and families of Beaumont Unified School District. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and the positive impact she has had on our community,” expressed Board President Melissa Williamson.
Prior to becoming Beaumont Unified School District superintendent in 2021, Kakish served as the chief business officer and governmental relations at the Riverside Unified School District, as well as the chief business officer for Moreno Valley Unified School District.
“I have always had a business forward mindset in everything I do. Every organization, whether it is a Fortune 500 company or a public school, comes down leading people to do what they do best,” explained Kakish. “I attribute a lot of my success as a superintendent to the growth mindset. In my role, I just happen to be making decisions that lead to excellent outcomes in education while caring about the people implementing that work.”
As the superintendent, Kakish carries an enormous responsibility as the top-ranking chief executive in the Beaumont Unified School District. In collaboration with the Board of Trustees, she leads more than 14,000 students and over 1,500 school employees with an annual operating budget of nearly $240 million.
Seated at a table during the ACSA, Region 19, Administrator of the Year awards dinner, Kakish came to the surprise realization that exactly 10 years ago to the day, she was awarded the State Business Services Administrator of the Year by ACSA Region 19.
