Public Hearing: Proposed Territory Transfer from Beaumont Unified to Banning Unified

We want to notify you of a virtual public hearing that will be held this Friday, September 24, 2021, at 2 p.m. by the Riverside County Office of Education’s County Committee on School District Organization.

The County Committee will consider a petition submitted by the City of Banning requesting that territory from the Beaumont Unified School District be transferred to the Banning Unified School District. The City of Banning’s petition is in response to the new construction in the Atwell development that is in the City of Banning, but which is within Beaumont Unified’s boundaries.

We understand that many families purchased homes in the Atwell development with the assurance that their child(ren) would attend Beaumont Unified’s schools. If the County Committee grants the City of Banning petition, families, and students residing in this development will attend schools in Banning Unified.
