Meet the Superintendent

Superintendent Mays Kakish serves as the top-ranking chief executive for the Beaumont Unified School District. In collaboration with the Board of Trustees, she oversees more than 14,000 students and an annual operating budget of nearly $240 million.

Kakish joined the Beaumont Unified School District in 2021 where she was recognized as the Superintendent of the Year by ACSA, Region 19 in May, 2025. In 2015, she was awarded the State Business Services Administrator of the Year by the same organization in 2015.

Prior to joining Beaumont USD, Kakish served Riverside Unified School District as the chief business officer and governmental relations. She has also held leadership positions at Moreno Valley Unified School District, Perris Elementary School District, and the Riverside County Office of Education.
