2022-23 Welcome Back Message

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year!

Thank you for joining us once again as we prepare for another outstanding school year in the Beaumont Unified School District. I am so excited to serve as your superintendent as we continue our journey together.

Our theme for this year is “Go First.” By this, we mean that everyone—including our students—must be empowered to step up, lead the way, and set a positive example for others.

We intend to be a learning organization where students become leaders that take initiative and are not afraid to take risks - as long as those risks bring positive change to their schools as a whole and benefit the wellbeing and ultimate success of their peers.

I encourage us all to “Go First” and try new things and even fail at them. Some mistakes will be made along the way. The important thing is to learn from those mistakes and continue growing and improving.

We are here to support our students. We want students to have pride in their school community. I want each and every learner to think about what it means to “go first” as you get ready for the school year. Look for leadership opportunities—and don’t be afraid to try new things and explore new interests you may not have experienced before.

To our families, please know that our teachers and staff are bound by our shared commitment to delivering a high-quality education to our students—in an environment that is safe, secure, welcoming, and positive.

We want the best for our students, caring for their social and emotional well-being as we provide outstanding academic and co-curricular opportunities to them.

We are also committed to making meaningful connections with you, our parents, caregivers, and family members.

Thank you so much for joining us on this journey. Let’s have a fantastic school year!

Mays Kakish, Superintendent
