Mentor Teacher Survey

In order to be considered a mentor teacher candidate, the following conditions must be met:

  1. You must have been teaching in Beaumont USD for 3 years or more
  2. You must hold a clear credential
  3. The school site administration must approve the survey application

As you consider if you would like to be a mentor teacher, please consider the following:

  1. There is a stipend amount paid to the mentor teacher. That amount is set by and paid for by the University.
  2. You may have to complete a 10-hour training CTC requirement. Once it is completed, it is good for 10 years.
  3. Once the placement is selected, the University will provide additional information about their particular program directly to the Mentor Teacher. It essentially becomes a team of three: The Mentor Teacher, the Student-Teacher, and the University Supervisor.
  4. This is a commitment that we as a District expect to be upheld. Please consider if you have the time and the ability to invest in a student-teacher prior to applying. The placement is typically 12 to 16 weeks long. Unless there is a serious issue between the mentor or student-teacher, we do expect that our mentor teachers will follow through with their promise of guiding and coaching their student-teacher.
