NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
SEPTEMBER 8 THROUGH OCTOBER 8, 2025
PRELIMINARY ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
FOR BEAUMONT UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
PROPOSED FAIRWAY CANYON SCHOOL
BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA

WHAT’S BEING PROPOSED?
In accordance with the California Education Code (CEC), the Beaumont Unified School District (District) is soliciting
public comments during a 30-day public review period on the Draft Preliminary Environmental Assessment
(PEA) Report for the proposed Beaumont Unified School District, Fairway Canyon TK-5 School. The project site
consists of one legal parcel, Assessor Parcel Number (APN) 413-790-074. The project site is bounded to the
south by Sorenstam Drive and to the north and east by future Oumet Way, Beaumont, California. A proposed
TK-5 school is to be constructed at the project site. During the public comment period, in accordance with the CEC,
the State of California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) will review and approve the draft PEA report. The PEA has been prepared to evaluate if environmental conditions exist at the project site that could pose a threat to human health or the environment under any land use scenario.

WHY THIS NOTICE?
The purpose of this notice is to notify the community of their opportunity to learn more about the project and to
provide comments on the draft PEA.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?
The community has an opportunity to provide comments to the District during the public comment period.
Written comments will be accepted on the draft PEA report from September 8 through October 8, 2025.

In addition, a Public Hearing will be held at the Beaumont Unified School District Administration Board Room,
350 W. Brookside Avenue, Beaumont, California, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. to receive
further comments from the public.
